Courses in IDA Indoor Climate and Energy, November 2012
EQUA is offering hands-on courses in IDA Indoor Climate and Energy (IDA ICE). A link to detailed course information and registration can be found below.
1. Basic course We introduce you to the basic functionalities of IDA ICE and the process of creating a simulation model. Lectures are interspersed with computer exercises. Target group: beginners Date: Wednesday, November 21, 2012
2. Intermediate course Having created a few models in IDA ICE and gained some experience, we show you how to make even more use of the software. We look at various models and functions to enhance the understanding and productivity of the software, such as systematic handling of input data, connecting your own models, ventilated facades and sun protections in combination with sun protection glass, methodology to build geometries, and import of building geometries and ground profiles using SketchUp and Google Earth. Target group: user passed beginners stage Date: Thursday-Friday, November 22-23, 2012
3. Practical Energy Simulation The course is intended for those who work with energy simulation in construction projects and who want to learn more about how to make realistic energy simulations. Target group: user passed beginners stage Date: Monday-Tuesday, November 26-27, 2012
The courses are held in Swedish, between 9 AM to 5 PM at EQUA's office, Råsundavägen 100, Solna (Stockholm). Last date for registration: Friday, November 16, 2012 For more information and registration, please click here
Open lectures During the fall the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm gives the courses "Energy and indoor climate modeling in buildings" and "Sustainable buildings - design, construction and operations" (both at Master’s degree level). As a part of these courses EQUA will hold lectures and hands-on exercises in IDA ICE. As a customer and user of IDA ICE you will now have the opportunity to participate in a selection of these lectures at no cost.
Windows - the Achilles heel of the building envelope The window expert at ÅF, Anna Werner, talks about heat balance, day light and sun protection. Speaker: Anna Werner, ÅF Date: Wednesday, October 31, 9-12 AM Location: EQUA
Indoor climate We go through some requirements for indoor climate in various quality systems and how to use IDA ICE to verify that the requirements are fulfilled. Speaker: Jörgen Eriksson, EQUA Date: Friday, November 02, 9-12 AM Location: EQUA
Simulation of indoor climate with CFD Speaker: Mats Finnson, Sweco Date: Friday, November 16, 9-12 AM Location: to be announced later
The lectures are held in Swedish. To register please send an e-mail to email@example.com no later than the day before the current lecture. Note: The number of places are limited.

Nordic PhD Seminar on Net Zero Energy Building Strategies, Systems and Technologies in collaboration with IBPSA-Nordic
Place: Aalborg University, Sohngaardsholmsvej 57, 9000 Aalborg, Denmark Time: 8-9 December 2011.
Organised by Per Kvols Heiselberg (email@example.com)
Research and development activities related to the development of cost-effective net zero energy buildings have a high priority in all Nordic countries and have lead to the initiation of a number of similar research activities in the last few years in all the Nordic countries. The purpose of the workshop is to gather PhD students from all the Nordic Countries to exchange information and to establish cross country collaboration in order to coordinate research work and to exploit synergies. Research in net zero energy buildings is naturally multi-disciplinary and covers a wide range of research topics. This first workshop will cover the following topics:
